Welcome and General Overview of Your New Service

You have a new account and you'd like to explore the features available to you on this new service.  This is the place to start.

First of all, welcome.  We're happy to have you here.  You have selected Open Road Hosting to host your ecommerce website.  We are experienced in ecommerce and can help you by providing the following services:

• Shopping cart software tailored to your level of commerce

• Advice and guidance in online marketing and commerce

• Email

• Website Hosting

In addition, you can setup mailing lists and autoresponders and you can access your email while traveling through your browser.

Email

You now have an email account for each of your users.  Email normally will be accessed from your local computer through IMAP.  You must setup IMAP on your PC.  Email can also be accessed from nearly anywhere through our browser interface called Neomail.  Each user account has a unique email address and can also have many alias'.  Email received on this site can be forwarded to another mail address.  You can also setup a vacation response so that the system will reply to received emails with a vacation message that you can define (telling the sender that you are on vacation and the date that you will return, for example).

Your Website

You have plenty of space to host your website.  You can upload your and/or modify your webpages using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or using FrontPage (FP).  The recommended method is FP for simpler sites and FTP for more complex sites and sites with shopping cart software.

Users

You can set up user accounts as part of your new service.  You can do this yourself if you have administrator privileges.  Owners automatically are given administrator privileges.  Your other users generally do not have administrator privileges.  Users can also setup their own personal websites using the same procedures that the main website uses.
